Buttercrunch is a lettuce with compact heads of juicy, dark green, mild-flavored leaves. The crisp stems and outer leaves are soft and melt in your mouth like butter. Lettuce prefers moist soils with mild weather, but transplants well, so it can be grown indoors for a time before being moved to the garden.
